Checks are payable in advance to Chesapeake Medical Staffing – NOT Good Samaritan Hospital. A one-time payroll deduction is available.
If the CMS associate is actively practicing in the ED or a critical care clinical setting, the instructor will allow the associate to take the one-day recertification course up to 6 months beyond the expiration date. If an associate has expired more than 6 months, it is recommended he/she take the entire 2-day course.
The ACLS book is NOT included in the price. The instructor does not use the book but it is available for purchase at the site for $27.50 payable directly to the instructor. There are condensed instructional materials specific to the course distributed to the class the day of the course. CMS has copies of this folder if an associate requests it ahead of the course for review. It is NOT necessary to review the instructional materials ahead of the course in order to pass the test.
Please call us at 410-321-4267 between the hours of 8 am and 5:30 pm or contact Human Resources to sign up for a class.

There is a very clear emphasis on priorities in assessment and management of the ill or injured child. The practical application of cognitive and psychomotor skills in pediatric resuscitation situations are emphasized in case presentations, PALS instructors, representing multidisciplinary specialties, with expertise in the care of children will present information in a lively and "user friendly" format. Participants in the PALS course will have an opportunity to practice emergency techniques such as intraosseous needle insertion, ventilating a child with a bag valve mask, intubation, umbilical line insertion and cardioversion/defibrillation of a child.
