Thank you for your interest in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, member of the Upper Chesapeake Health Care System. Please note the following orientation requirements for agency personnel required by this hospital.

Please Note: If you have completed the orientation procedure for Harford Memorial Hospital, you have fulfilled the requirements for Upper Chesapeake Medical Center as well.

Strict Dress Code:  Agency staff should wear their badge issued to them by their agency and have their name properly displayed.  No fingernail enhancements (gels, tips, acrylics, etc.).

  • Nursing Dress Code:  The nursing staff uniform throughout UCMC must wear white scrub pants. White or colored (solid or pattern) scrub top or white or colored scrub jacket. Two of the three scrub garments must be white. Long sleeve or turtlenecks may be worn under the scrub top or jacket. Shoes must be either white/black athletic type shoes or closed toe clogs that coordinate with the scrubs. Please read the dress code policy in its entirety in the orientation PowerPoint below.

Meditech Training 

  • ED Nurses:  There is a required Meditech training program, specific for the ED (EDM), which may be reviewed in the CMS office.  Please call a scheduling coordinator to request a date for Meditech training.
  • ICU, PCU or telemetry nurses:  A working knowledge of Meditech is expected. If you do not have Meditech experience, you will need a training session available through CMS.

Nursing Orientation

  • Review the Orientation Packet (see documents below).
  • Print and complete the post-test in black ink.
  • Print and complete both the Annual Mandatory Education and OSHA Respirator Questionnaire in black ink (these two documents need to be completed annually).
  • Please scan/email, fax or mail the completed post-test, Annual Mandatory Education and OSHA Respirator Questionnaire to the CMS office.
