Howard County General Hospital
Thank you for your interest in Howard County General Hospital, part of the Johns Hopkins Health Care System. Please note the following orientation requirements for agency personnel required by this community hospital.
EMAR Training: There is a required Electronic Medication Administration (EMAR) on-site training class held at Howard County General Hospital.
- Inpatient Orientation – Must complete 4 to 5-hour EMAR class offered monthly.
- ED Orientation – Must complete 4-hr EDM EMAR class in addition to the inpatient EMAR class.
- Pyxis Training – Must complete Pyxis training at the end of EMAR class.
Healthstream Modules: You will be required to complete facility-mandated training modules before you will be permitted to start working at Howard.
Orientation Procedure
- Please call a CMS scheduling coordinator to register for the next EMAR training class for agency personnel at Howard County General Hospital.
- Once you have taken the classes a user ID and password will be assigned for the Healthstream Modules. It will take approximately 1 to 2 days for CMS to receive this.
- Complete the Healthstream Modules using your user ID and password by following the Healthstream Module Instructions (see documents below).
- Once you have completed the Healthstream Modules, please contact a CMS Scheduling Coordinator to verify completion.
