Gold Seal of Approval
We are very pleased to announce that we have achieved the Gold Seal of Approval™ for health care staffing services from The Joint Commission of Accreditation of Hospital Organizations. This JCAHO certification is indicative of our compliance with consensus-based national standards, performance measurement and improvement activities.
Chesapeake Medical Staffing underwent an extensive on-site review of our compliance with JCAHO standards, which examined how we determine the qualifications and competency of our staff, how we place our staff, and how we monitor their clinical performance.

Health Care Staffing Services Certification
Joint Commission
As you know, the ongoing shortage of nurses and other health care professionals have forced health care organizations to increasingly fill positions with temporary workers through contractual arrangements with staffing firms such as ours. The Joint Commission’s certification program, launched in October 2004, offers an independent, comprehensive evaluation of our ability to provide competent staffing services. This gives you assurance regarding the competence and credentialing of all of our professional clinical staff.
JCAHO Certification recognizes Chesapeake Medical Staffing’s dedication to providing health care providers that are qualified to provide safe, high-quality care to your patients. We are very proud to receive the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ as a certified health care staffing agency.
CMS JCAHO Recertification
December 21, 2009 - Patricia Mounce, MS, RN, a surveyor for the JCAHO Health Care Staffing Division, conducted the required bi-annual audit to collect data necessary for the recertification process. We are very pleased to announce that CMS met and exceeded all of the standards required by JCAHO with no corrective action recommendations! We received official notice in a letter from Ann Scott Blouin, RN, Ph.D., Executive Vice President, JCAHO Accredition and Certifications Operations. Ms. Blouin writes that JCAHO certified organizations, like CMS, strive to provide safe and high-quality care, treatment, and services to patients and commends our efforts to do so.
Congratulations to our administrative office professionals whose daily actions reflect the high quality standards expected of an organization earning the gold seal of approval from The Joint Commission. Special thanks to HR, the scheduling team, business development and the finance team for your daily contributions to our best business practices. The JCAHO surveyor commented on the quality of CMS she noted from direct observation and audits, as well as candid phone interviews with hospital staffing clients and CMS clinical associates. We are so appreciative of your support and cooperation in maintaining required compliance credentials and annual educational requirements.
CMS proudly displays our JCAHO gold seal for 2010!
