Nacho Ordinary Holiday Gala, December 2009
CMS proudly presented Health Care for the Homeless with more than $10,000
on December 12, 2009 at the annual “Nacho Ordinary Holiday Gala.” More
than 200 CMS associates, hospital clients and friends danced the night
away at the Little Havana Restaurante on Key Highway. Many generous
associates and clients poured open their hearts and wallets. We are
grateful for the generous donation from every CMS associate. It is your
individual contribution that collectively added to the total contribution.
The evening included a very successful live and silent auction thanks to the dedicated energy of Deb Kennedy. The top auction winner was Steve Deller who bid and won a trip to Belize! Thank you to all who supported such a worthwhile cause.

Belize, November 2009
Nearly 80 CMS clients, office staff, associates and their families
enjoyed our annual warm weather trip to tropical Ambergris Caye in Belize
in early November ’09. The group stayed at the Pelican Reef Villas on the
island and many ventured to the mainland via water taxi – an adventure in
itself! The Pelican Reef staff members have perfected the meaning of
stellar customer service We extend a very warm thanks to two special
employees at Pelican Reef: Eliazar and Cesar. They manage the bar, food
service, trip booking and everything else one could imagine – including
free, expert advice! They couldn't be nicer or more helpful - we were
treated like royalty!
Thanks for the generous support from our group who donated over 100 books and a DVD player to San Pedro Catholic School. The principal of the school was so very appreciative that a group of tourists would combine pleasure with “giving back” while vacationing.
The travelers enjoyed the crystal clear water of Belize, a private catamaran charter under a full moon, snorkeling with sharks and rays, scuba diving, zip-lining and even archeological tours on the mainland. They also enjoyed many hours relaxing at Pelican Reef. Imagine sipping cold tropical drinks on a warm sandy beach framed by swaying palm trees and beautiful turquoise water!

Fall Crab Feast, September 2009
CMS
clients, associates and their families enjoyed a wonderful, cool evening at
Kahler’s Crab Deck in Rosedale, MD at the annual CMS Crab Feast held on
September 10, 2009. Dozens of crabs were picked, beer and conversation flowed
freely and dessert was enjoyed by all! The weather was perfect and complimented

Office Team Appreciation Event, June 2009
On
June 3, despite a possible threat of some severe afternoon thunderstorms, the
entire administrative office team boarded a luxurious 48-foot yacht, the
“NSTG8TR3," under the experienced navigation of Diane Kowal’s husband, Captain
Andy Kowal. We departed Middle River and headed southeast across the Chesapeake
Bay to Rock Hall, MD where we enjoyed lots of good food and good company on the
deck at Waterman’s Crab House. On the way back, under warm, sunny skies, we made
a pit stop and anchored off Hart-Miller Island to enjoy the afternoon on the
water. Many of our team members weathered the chilly bay temperatures and went
for an invigorating swim!
Jeff and Terri are very appreciative of the efforts of this dedicated team of professionals who work hard every day for our clinical associates and our clients. Kudos to our scheduling coordinators, finance and HR team members! And a very special kudos to Toni Torsch, our off-hours team leader, who made the off-site event possible! Toni volunteered to answer the office phones for the entire afternoon so our regular office team could enjoy the time together! Way to go, team!

Nurses Week, May 2009
We
enjoyed visiting many of our nurses and hospital clients during the annual
celebration of Florence Nightingale's birth, otherwise known as National
Nurses Week.

WISP Winter Weekend, February 2009
A group of 32 CMSers and their families traveled to Deep Creek Lake February
20-22, 2009. We enjoyed a great weekend in a massive 9-bedroom, lake-front
villa, complete with fireplaces, an indoor pool, and an outdoor hot tub! The
Saturday evening, Italian themed dinner was of 5-star quality, enjoyed
immensely by all!
There was enough food for twice the number of guests! The fireplaces crackled all weekend to keep us toasty indoors and the temperature outdoors was perfect for skiing. Snow showers on Sunday morning added to the ambience of the venue. The group unanimously voted to return to the same site next year for the winter get-away weekend!

Annual Holiday Gala, December 13, 2008
Over 200 CMS associates, hospital clients and friends danced the night
away at the 1840s Ballroom in downtown Baltimore.
We proudly presented Health Care for the Homeless with a check for $25,000. The goal to increase the efforts of 2007 was exceeded thanks to all of our generous associates and clients who poured open their hearts and wallets.
The evening included a gourmet menu by Carlton Caterers, great dance music by Music Masters and the ever popular silent auction. A special thanks to Deb Kennedy for all of her dedicated effort to make the silent auction such a success! Thank you to all of the contributors who donated items for the auction.
The evening would not have been complete without the conga line led by none other than CJ Marbley.
Aruba, November 2008
Nearly
100 CMS clients, office staff, associates and their families joined our
annual warm weather trip from October 22-29, 2008 on the beautiful island of
Aruba. We stayed at the Occidental Grand Aruba All-Inclusive Resort. Our group enjoyed the crystal clear Caribbean water, a private
catamaran charter aboard the “Rumba”, and the adventurous off-road jeep tour
of the undeveloped areas of the island!
Thanks to very generous support from our group, CMS travelers donated over 150 books to two local schools on the island—a kindergarten and a primary school. The principals of the schools, joined by other officials & teachers, were present at the resort one afternoon to formally “accept” our gifts. They were so very appreciative of a group of tourists who combined pleasure with philanthropy! The story was even published in a local paper in Aruba!
Fall Crab Feast, September 2008

CMS Family Camping Trip, July 2008
Over 50 CMS employees, family, and friends enjoyed the great outdoors on
the annual camping trip at Lake Raystown Resort, Pennsylvania, the weekend
of July 25-27, 2008. The beautiful weather brought everyone outside for
hiking, boating and a few trips down the water slide!
Campers enjoyed Saturday night around the campfire and finished the trip with a breakfast aboard the Proud Mary Riverboat Sunday morning.
Nurses Week, May 2008
Our office staff greatly enjoyed the opportunity to visit many of our
RNs hard at work out in the field. CMS nurses could easily be spotted
donning their new navy blue CMS messenger bags!
Twenty CMS associates and friends braved a challenging course at the 6th Annual Golf Outing and showed off their golf skills on May 8, 2008, at the Francis Scott Key Golf & Country Club in Finksburg, MD.
The golfers then celebrated with happy hour at the Full Moon Pub & Grill.
2007
Jamaica, October 2007
The CMS group traveled to Negril, Jamaica for the annual warm weather trek in the fall of 2007. The group was split between two neighboring hotels. The all-inclusive Riu Negril was luxurious and offered something for everyone. The smaller, unique tree-house accommodations at the Sunset at the Palms welcomed those looking for a smaller, more intimate setting.
We honored our tradition of supporting others by adopting a primary school and a local nursing home. CMS travelers donated more than 200 books to the primary school and a large amount of medical supplies and clothing as requested by the nursing home. Thank you to all who blended a get-away vacation with a generous spirit to give to those less fortunate. The response from both the primary school and the nursing home was very rewarding.
The group enjoyed a great week with plenty of action or just beach lounging - depending on one’s preference. There were inland river excursions with stops at private beaches. Our group catamaran trip aboard “The Wild Thing” to Rick’s Café to watch the cliff divers at Sunset was fabulous. The food and drinks were delicious and the locals could not have been more hospitable!
Fall Crab Feast, September 2007
On a hot and humid late summer evening, September 13, 2007, over 80
CMSer’s, family, friends and clients filled the outdoor deck at Kahler’s
Crab House in Rosedale. We enjoyed fat, local crabs and great local
corn-on-the cob. Conversation and cool beverages flowed freely. Desserts
were homemade, courtesy of our office staff. Mother Nature was kind and
held off thunderstorms until after the event.
CMS Family Camping Trip, July 2007
A crowd of CMS employees, family, and friends enjoyed the great outdoors on the first annual camping trip held at Lake Raystown Resort, located between Harrisburg and Pittsburg about 160 miles from Baltimore. The beautiful weather brought everyone outside for hiking, boating, lake swimming and a few trips down the water slide! Accommodations were available in camp sites, RV sites and even air-conditioned "Villas." The group enjoyed Saturday night around the campfire and finished the trip with a breakfast aboard the Proud Mary Riverboat
on Sunday morning.
Nurses Week, May 2007
CMS celebrated National Nurses Week May 6 –12, 2007 with clinical visits to more than 200 nurses and clients. All of the administrative office staff enjoyed the time out of the office to meet with our clinical staff and clients. Flowers and canvas bags were given to CMS nurses in recognition of the celebration.
